Everything clients and practitioners want to know about how FlexPractice works.
Getting started
What is FlexPractice?
+
FlexPractice is a platform for finding and booking vetted independent wellness practitioners — acupuncturists, massage therapists, personal trainers, physical therapists, and chiropractors. Every practitioner works for themselves, is independently licensed, and is reviewed before their profile goes live. We connect you with practitioners who are genuinely good at what they do but might be hard to find through Google alone.
Is it really free to use as a client?
+
Yes — completely free. You pay the practitioner for your session. FlexPractice charges practitioners a small fee for the platform — clients never pay anything to us. No subscription, no booking fees, no hidden charges.
How are practitioners vetted?
+
Every practitioner is reviewed before their profile goes live. We check their licensing and credentials, review their Google Business Profile and ratings, and personally assess their profile before approving it. We also show verified Google reviews on every profile so you can see what real clients say about them. We only list practitioners we would trust ourselves.
Intro sessions
What is an intro session?
+
An intro session is a first session with a practitioner at a reduced rate. Each practitioner keeps a limited number of intro spots open each month — same quality, same length, just a lower rate to make it easier to get started with someone new. Intro sessions are how FlexPractice makes it easy to try a practitioner before committing to regular sessions at their full rate.
Intro sessions are for new clients. Once you've had your intro session you can book regular sessions with that practitioner directly through FlexPractice at their standard rate.
Why is the intro session cheaper?
+
Practitioners set aside a small number of intro session slots specifically for new clients. They offer these at a reduced rate because they understand that trying someone new is a commitment — and making that first step accessible is good for everyone. The quality of the session is identical to any other appointment. The rate is lower because it is a first introduction, not because it is a lesser service.
How many intro sessions can I book?
+
One intro session per practitioner. If you want to try a different practitioner — even in the same specialty — you can book an intro session with them too. The intro rate is about trying someone new for the first time, not a recurring discount.
Booking and confirmation
How does booking work?
+
You find a practitioner you want to see, pick an available intro session slot, fill in a short form — your name, phone number, and what you're hoping to work on — and submit. The practitioner reviews your request and confirms it. You get a text when it's confirmed. No payment is required to request a booking — you pay the practitioner directly at the session. For returning clients, regular session slots are also available on each practitioner's booking page at their standard rate.
How long does confirmation take?
+
Each practitioner sets their own confirmation timeframe — it is shown on their profile. Most confirm within a few hours. You will receive a text message as soon as your booking is confirmed. If you submitted a flexible request rather than a specific slot, the practitioner will reach out when a suitable time opens up.
Do I pay through FlexPractice?
+
Not currently. Payment is handled directly between you and the practitioner at the time of your session — cash, card, Venmo, or whatever the practitioner uses. FlexPractice handles the discovery and booking. Payment processing is something we are building for a future update.
What is the cancellation policy?
+
Each practitioner sets their own cancellation policy — it is shown on their booking page before you confirm. As a general principle, cancelling more than 24 hours before your session is always fine. Within 24 hours the practitioner's policy applies. Please be respectful of their time — a last-minute cancellation is a real cost to an independent practitioner.
After your session
What if I want to become a regular client?
+
That is the best possible outcome. After your intro session, if you want to keep seeing the practitioner regularly, you book directly with them — through whatever system they use, whether that is their own website, Jane App, or just texting them directly. FlexPractice's job was to make the introduction. The ongoing relationship is between you and your practitioner.
Can I book regular sessions through FlexPractice after my intro?
+
Yes — once you've had your intro session you can book regular sessions with the same practitioner through FlexPractice. Regular session slots appear on their booking page alongside intro spots. You pay the practitioner's standard rate for regular sessions.
Can I use FlexPractice to try multiple specialties?
+
Absolutely — and this is one of the things that makes FlexPractice genuinely useful. You might find your acupuncturist through the platform and then use it to try a massage therapist or personal trainer for the first time. Each intro session gives you access to a new practitioner at a lower barrier. The platform is designed for people who take their wellness seriously across multiple disciplines.
Getting listed
How do I get listed on FlexPractice?
+
Submit your details at flexpractice.co/join — it takes two minutes. We reach out within 24 hours and build your profile for you. No technical setup required on your end. We also have a free client acquisition checklist that walks you through Google, directories, and outreach — worth doing while your profile is being set up.
Who is FlexPractice for?
+
Independent wellness practitioners who work for themselves. Acupuncturists, massage therapists, certified personal trainers, physical therapists, and chiropractors. We do not list clinics, studios, or multi-practitioner groups — only individual practitioners running their own practice. If you work for yourself and care about every client you see, FlexPractice is built for you.
What do I need to get listed?
+
A current and valid licence for your specialty. A Google Business Profile — we pull your rating and reviews from there automatically. A professional photo or headshot. Your session types, lengths, and rates. A short personal bio. And at least one or two intro session slots available per month. We handle the rest.
Yes — completely. You set your standard rate and your intro session rate. We suggest the intro rate be meaningfully lower than your standard rate — enough that it genuinely feels like a reduced barrier for a new client. Most practitioners set their intro rate at 20 to 30 percent below their standard rate. But the decision is entirely yours.
How is this different from Jane App or Zocdoc?
+
Jane manages your existing practice — scheduling, charting, billing. FlexPractice grows it by finding you new clients. Zocdoc is strong for clinical providers who take insurance. FlexPractice is built specifically for independent cash-pay wellness practitioners across five specialties. The simplest way to think about it — Jane manages your practice, FlexPractice grows it. They are complementary, not competing.
How it works day to day
How do bookings work on my end?
+
When a client submits a booking request you receive a notification by email and text with their details — name, phone, what they want to work on, and which slot they selected. You confirm or reschedule within your stated timeframe. The client gets a text confirming their booking. That is the complete flow. No complicated dashboard, no software to learn.
Do I have to change how I manage my existing clients?
+
No — nothing changes for your existing clients. They continue to book with you however they always have. FlexPractice is specifically for new clients who discover you through the platform. Your existing practice runs exactly as it always has. You add FlexPractice as a new channel for new clients — you do not migrate or change anything else.
What happens after a client's intro session?
+
If the client wants to continue seeing you regularly they become part of your practice like any other client — you book them directly through whatever system you use. FlexPractice made the introduction. The ongoing relationship is yours. Regular follow-up sessions are between you and the client unless you choose to use FlexPractice for scheduling those too.
Can clients rebook through FlexPractice after their intro session?
+
Yes — clients can book regular sessions through FlexPractice at your standard rate after their intro session. You control your regular session availability through your portal, separate from your intro spots. See our pricing page for details on how sessions are billed.
Can I update my available slots?
+
Yes — contact us and we update your slots within a few hours. During the early launch phase we manage profile updates for you. When a slot fills, let us know and we remove it. When new slots open, send us the details and we add them. We are building self-service profile management for a future update.
The network
What is the practitioner referral network?
+
The referral network is a feature in development. The idea is simple — when you are full and a client needs a service you do not offer, you refer them to a trusted colleague on the platform. When your colleagues are full they refer back. A formal referral layer that makes the informal referrals practitioners already do more structured, visible, and rewarded. We are building this now and it will be available to all practitioners on the platform when it launches.
Is FlexPractice only in Los Angeles?
+
Los Angeles is our launch city. We are building the model here first and expanding to additional cities once the platform is working well in LA. If you are a practitioner in another city and want to be notified when we launch there, send us a note at hello@flexpractice.co.
Still have a question?
We read every email and respond within 24 hours. No bots, no ticketing systems — just a real person who can help.
